Job Title: Business Loan Officer I

Job Description Summary:

The Business Loan Officer I is responsible for processing and assisting with managing the Member Business Loan and Mortgage Loan portfolio.

Essential Job Functions:

• Responsible for underwriting small business loans in compliance with policy and regulatory standards. To include interviewing potential loan candidates; ensuring complete applications; and obtaining required financial statements (25%)
• Assist with the management of the Member Business Loan and Mortgage loan portfolio (20%)
• Administer and track the small business start-up lending program in compliance with the CDFI grant funding provided by the US Treasury Department (15%)
• Communicate with members to obtain financial statements, tax returns, copies of leases on investment properties, and other financial documents (10%)
• Send appropriate application packages to members upon request, receive member loan applications and prepare them for review. Follow up to determine the status (10%)
• Organize files and perform file maintenance when necessary (10%)
• Answer member phone calls (5%)
• Performs other related duties as assigned. (5%)

Education and Experience:

• 3+ years of similar or related experience
• A 4-year college degree is preferred but not required depending on experience

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of standing, sitting at a desk, and working on a computer

• Must be able to carry and lift objects to 50 lb
• Must be able to listen and speak effectively

Work Environment:

• This position requires the ability to manage a remote working environment when necessary. Prior management approval is required.
