Job Description

iWorld Professionals is seeking a Controller for our client in Syracuse, NY ! The Controller plays a vital leadership role, overseeing all financial operations; managing essential accounting functions, financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls, while delivering strategic financial insights to senior management. Reporting to the Vice President of Operations and Technology, the Controller will be instrumental in ensuring the organization's financial stability and driving its growth.

Controller Responsibilities:

• Ensure accurate financial transactions and reporting, while supporting profitability analysis.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements and present key insights to senior leadership.
• Lead budgeting efforts, monitor performance, and provide variance analysis and financial forecasting.
• Analyze data to identify cost-saving and revenue growth opportunities; provide strategic financial guidance.
• Manage cash flow, banking relationships, and negotiate financing terms to ensure financial stability.
• Oversee tax compliance and reporting, collaborating with external advisors to optimize tax strategies.
• Lead financial audits, ensuring compliance and addressing audit findings.
• Manage accounting operations (A/P, A/R, general ledger) and drive continuous process improvements.
• Mentor and develop the accounting team, promoting collaboration and excellence.

Controller Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
• 7+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience
• Experience in managing accounting teams and overseeing financial reporting and budgeting processes.
• Expert knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting standards, and regulatory compliance
• Experience in managing cash flow, ensuring tax compliance, and overseeing audit procedures.
• Proven experience in streamlining financial operations through process automation and systems integration.
• Strong leadership and team development skills, with a track record of mentoring and retaining top-performing teams.
• Experienced in strategic planning, financial modeling, and assessing investment opportunities.
• Ability to work onsite in Syracuse NY.
