Job Description

Duties You will serve as the principle advisor to the Deputy Commander for matters regarding current and future mission assessments, special projects, and long-range planning. You will provide oversight for implementing and validating new or revised programs and review implementation principles. You will participate in the planning and coordination of all functions related to the accomplishment of Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) Squadron (LCSRON) ONE Mission. You will monitor guidance and policy changes, providing insight to external products and oversight of internal implementation in regards to all programs and activities. You will develop, coordinate, and present the regulatory and programmatic implications of present and proposed actions. You will be responsible for total resource management policy affecting key civilian and military managers. You will develop and implement changes to command administrative policies and procedures to improve operations. You will provide quality control and monitor the implementation of decisions for timeliness and acceptability. You will be responsible and accountable for management actions on all matters concerned with the content and character of operations, program planning, and evaluation of LCSRON ONE programs. You will direct and initiate planning, strategy development, and formulation of short and long range plans regarding military, civilian, contractor, and other resources to ensure operational success. Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service. You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license. You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal. MSP/PPP applicants must currently hold the required security clearance. Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing. This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time. You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment. Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-13) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector overseeing and managing Littoral Combat ship (LCS) program operations by evaluating policy, planning, and resource requirements to establish long range objectives and develop new program guidelines to maintain operational readiness. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
