Reports to: Director for Accessibility and Testing
Position Description: The Test Proctor is responsible for providing secure exam delivery and superior customer service in a comfortable, friendly environment. This is a part-time position, with flexible scheduling. The position will average 10 hours per week and will be scheduled 3 or 4 days per week. The schedule will be created at least 2 weeks in advance and developed based on office need and Proctor availability.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Comply with all testing procedures, practices and policies
- Be customer-service oriented; including the ability to balance customer service with enforcement of testing security
- Give written and oral instructions and communicate well and professionally with a diverse student body, faculty, and staff
- Complete administrative work associated with testing - i.e. filing, printing, record-keeping
- Exercise sound judgment and discretion in handling confidential information
- Be comfortable working with students with disabilities
- Resolve systematic problems or testing issues that may arise during testing sessions
- Maintain calm demeanor when testing issues arise
- Be knowledgeable about basic computer operations; keyboarding, word processing and Excel
- Must be comfortable learning how to use testing software and become certified to administer tests according to sponsors' and vendors' requirements (e.g., College Board, Accuplacer, etc.); this includes: studying proctor manuals, attending webinars, and passing sponsor/vendor certification exams if needed; support and training will be provided by the Director of Accessibility and Testing
- Complete minimal housekeeping duties such as sanitizing keyboards, shredding scratch paper, sharpening pencils, etc.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications Education and/or Experience: - High School Diploma is required (Due to test requirements, candidates cannot be a currently enrolled college student.)
