About the Role

The Company is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to join its General Counsel's Office. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing legal advice and support to the foundation's environment program and communications team. This includes ensuring compliance with relevant laws and best practices in grantmaking, both domestically and internationally, and managing legal issues related to institutional-level communications. The role involves a significant amount of legal research, drafting and negotiating a variety of agreements, and advising on a range of legal matters. The ideal candidate will have a J.D. with a minimum of 4 years' legal experience, with a preference for those with a background in corporate transactional work and experience in the nonprofit sector. Strong interpersonal skills, the ability to manage multiple projects, and a commitment to the foundation's mission are essential. Applicants for the Senior Legal Counsel position at the company should be team players, flexible, and enjoy working in a collaborative environment. The role requires the ability to adapt complex legal advice into practical guidance, excellent communication skills, and experience in project management.
